Shipping of puppies: Of course we prefer that you pick up your pup if at all possible, but if you can't then we do ship them. With the proper preparation, golden retriever puppies actually travel pretty well. They are required to be checked by a veterinarian before shipping for a health certificate and must be at least 8 weeks of age. We ship them with their toy that has the scent of the mother on it as well as food and water. The health record and any other pertinent documentation will be shipped with the puppy. We also provide a collar for your new puppy. (Registration and other documents are sent separate, such as the microchip information, contract/guarantee, copies of documents on parents, and literature on the first 48 hours, feeding, and training.) Golden retriever puppies respond well to socialization. Prior to shipping, we expose them to various noises in order to prepare them for shipping. We acclimate them to the crate that they will be shipped in as well. We do not sedate them in any way. It is not necessary. With the proper socialization, these puppies adapt very well for flying and arrive, to greet their new family in a happy environment. All our puppies are shipped by air and on the most direct flight to minimize the time from our house to yours. Depending on the time of the year, shipping may not be possible. They do not ship in extremely hot temperatures (see website for details). The cost to ship depends on destination. You are responsible for all shipping costs including the crate for shipping. This usually cost about $50. Approximately $200 to $300 for the flight and $50 for the health certification. Check out the following web site for more information on shipping Delta Dash. http://www.delta.com/help/contact_us/cargo/index.jsp Once you have decided to have your puppy shipped, we will do the rest. Then we will let you know the total cost. You will then be required to send a money order or certified check prior to shipping. We will arrange for a mutually time in agreement for shipment. You will need to be available to pick your puppy up within an hour after arriving. We would then like to have you notify us as soon as possible that the puppy has arrived safely. Thank You!
